The Louis Segond version is not based on the TR & Masoretic text.
The Ostervald version is. The most recent revision of Ostervald was in 1996.
Anyone working towards implementing this for Go Bible?

I found a copy of the Ostervald version at http://bible.lapetina.org/archives/BibleOstervald1996.tgz

I think permission would need to obtained from Maranatha Baptist Mission.

I have started to try using the conversion scripts for the Zefania XML Bible modules.

The scripts within Zefania XML to SWORD Module provide the facility to convert
    (a) Zefania XML to "Verse Per Line" text (VPL)
    (b) VPL to ThML format, suitable for use with Go Bible Creator.

As a second test vehicle I chose the file sf_ostervald.xml

This was successful. It made a file called sf_ostervald.thml which could be used with Go Bible Creator.

I have therefore been able to make the French Ostervald 1996 Go Bible +2.2.3 application.

NB. I had to perform one "search and replace all" task to deal with a special character used in this French version, which the scripts did not copy faithfully.
Had to replace all Å? by œ
In order to correct words such as œuvres and cœur.
    1473 occurrences.

Due to the existing state of the Zefania XML scripts, all the booknames are still in German. The user interface in my collection is still in English.
This Go Bible application may eventually be uploaded to the Go Bible Google Group. Wait and see.

Yesterday, I found an error of omission in the Zefania XML module sf_ostervald.xml

2 Kings 25:15 has the final words " d'argent." missing!

    Verse 15 should read:
Le capitaine des gardes emporta aussi les encensoirs et les bassins, ce qui était d'or et ce qui était d'argent.

    It currently reads:
Le capitaine des gardes emporta aussi les encensoirs et les bassins, ce qui était d`or et ce qui était

Check by comparing with the Unbound Bible module French Ostervald 1996.

Meanwhile, it is preferable to download the French Ostervald Go Bible from
    http://www.biblephone.net/article.php?id=55

The complete Bible as J2ME application is
    http://www.biblephone.net/modules/fr1/MIDP2.0/fr1FrenchOstervald1996Bible.jar

    Smaller collections are available too!

These were made by Octavian Lupu from the file downloaded from the Unbound Bible project.

Moreover, all the French modules from biblephone.net already have French booknames and user interface.

There is now an updated version available from Zefania XML site, based on the download from the Unbound Bible site.

In my Ostervald Go Bible (made from the earlier Zefania XML file), the last word (constance) of 2 Timothy 3:10 was missing. This has also been corrected in the updated Zefania XML file.

Action: Rebuild my Ostervald Go Bible from the updated file.

I have made a new French Ostervald Go Bible - using the Unbound Bible file directly, rather than the updated Zefania XML file as the source text. Download from
    http://groups.google.com/group/go-bible/web/FrenchOstervald1996GoBible2.2.4.zip

Currently this has English booknames and UI. I will eventually get round to using French booknames and UI.

    Dear Jens,

Please hold in reserve - do not post online!
The 1996 Ostervald is copyright, unlike the original 1744 Ostervald and any revisions thereof predating 1923.

    Best regards,
    David H.
