    Hi All,

The Go Bible has been a wonderful addition to my devotion time with God. I read the GoBible on my commutes and sometimes during worship services. It worked fantastic on my Samsung A920 which gave up the ghost by accidental drowning two weeks ago. I purchased a Samsung AP830w Windows Mobile 5 phone and just installed KJV 1.0 last evening.

It was a very easy process, slightly time consuming, however having the Go Bible on WM5 is awesome. Here are the installation steps I followed:

    1. Download IBM MIDP 2.0 Java Emulator V2.3.CAB to your PC from here: (This emulator is great for running Opera Mini 4 too!)

    2. Active Sync the IBM MIDP 2.0 Java Emulator V2.3.CAB file to your IP830w device and run the installation.

    3. Run the IBM MIDP 2.0 and it will give you an option to enter the URL of the full version of Go Bible KJV 1.0 . (Please note that IBM MIDP 2.0 doesn't, to my knowledge, allow you to point a file in storage, it only allows entry of URLs for downloading)

    4. Type in the full path of the GoBible file, exactly as shown, including the upper case letters for the KJV. (I slowly and carefully typed in the path on the virtual keyboard)

    5. Since I have a unlimited data plan with Sprint, the file downloaded quickly with no problems. IBM MIDP 2.0 will start the install automatically. Just answer yes to the installation security questions and moments later you will have the Word of God stored on your WM5 pocket pc!

For the uninitiated, the Samsung IP830w operating system is Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.2 Phone Edition. This may help forum readers understand what Al has done amazingly successfully. It might be interesting to see if there are any other Java ME emulators for PCs that could be installed successfully in a Windows Mobile phone.

This page is worth reading before downloading the IBM MIDP 2.0 Java Emulator.

It lists as an alternative to the IBM emulator, one called Risidoro's Intent Java MIDlet Manager.

I might add that I installed the Risidoro's Intent Java MIDlet Manager first. I was unsuccessful in getting it to run. After I read the comments in the asterbox forum about the Intent Java MIDlet Manager possibly being buggy, I uninstalled it and tried the IBM MIDP instead and have had no problems.

    Thanks for further information.

There are also WAP pages for downloading Go Bibles in several international languages on the Bible Phone website of Octavian Lupu, who is based in Romania.

It would be useful feedback to Octavian if you were to try at least one of these using the OTA installation method just as you have described.

Albie, you would be most welcome to join the Go Bible Google Group, which was set up to promote collaboration among users of Go Bible Creator.

I myself have not yet pursued the possibility of creating of a WAP download site for the various Go Bible collections that I have made using Go Bible Creator.
